Annual Action plan for for Ahanta West Municipal Assembly for the year 2026 Approved 2026 Annual Action Plan
The Ahanta West Municipal Assembly is pleased to announce the hosting of the 41st Western Regional Farmers Day Celebration at Azani, Agona Nkwanta on Friday 5th December, 2025.





The Head of the Local Government Service Prof. Lord Mensah on Thursday 18th November, 2025 paid a working visit to the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly. As part of his visit, a staff durbar was organized by the Assembly to introduce him to the entire staffs.
During his meeting with the staff, he urged staff to be punctual at work and deliver to meet standards. He also urged staff to report to work on time and avoid lateness to work.
However, staffs had the chance to interact with the Head of Service pertaining to the scheme of service and other related issues.
In attendance were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Shaiku Damma Mumuni, Director of Administration, Mr. Mark Mintah Sarkodie, Judith Nana Ampomah Municipal Human Resource Manageress. Attached were pictures of the meeting:









A high-level Team from the United Nations Board of Auditors (UN BoA) visited the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly on Monday, 17th November 2025 as part of their performance audit of the UNCDF-funded “Boosting Green Employment and Enterprise Opportunities in Ghana (GrEEn)” Project, which was implemented in the Municipality.
The Ahanta West Municipal Assembly was selected as the only participating municipality to be audited, owing to its stellar performance in the Annual Performance Assessment (APA). This recognition positions the Assembly as a model among GrEEn Project districts.
Additional Development – Local ACE Migration
The Assembly has also been successfully migrated onto the LoCAL ACE Programme, which will attract additional funding for the construction of a gari processing facility at Apimanim to enhance local economic development and resilience.
The UN BoA’s engagement further strengthens the Assembly’s visibility and credibility in implementing climate-resilient and local economic empowerment interventions.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ahanta West, Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo together with the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Shaiku Mumuni Damma, paid a courtesy visit to the three paramountcies in Ahanta land.
The purpose of the visit was to brief the chiefs on the deteriorating Busua–Dixcove bridge and to engage the surrounding communities on the need to close the bridge for reconstruction.
Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo explained that the dilapidated bridge is a critical piece of infrastructure connecting Busua and Dixcove, as well as other communities within the tourism enclave. He emphasized the urgency of fixing it without further delay.
He noted that the Busua bridge has long been on the development agenda. He stressed on that, during the 2020 and 2024 campaigns, they assured the people that when the NDC returns to power, the bridge would be fixed. However,Hon. Ebenzer Aidoo in his speech stated that he is pleased to announce that construction will begin on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, and is expected to be completed by 31st January 2026.
Hon. Aidoo further assured the chiefs and community members that he, together with the Member of Parliament, Hon. Mavis Kuukua Bissue, is committed to ensuring that the project is executed efficiently and with minimal disruption to daily activities. He expressed optimism about working closely with stakeholders to deliver this important development.
He also extended his appreciation to the chiefs and people of Busua, Upper Dixcove, and Lower Dixcove for their warm reception and constructive engagement. He assured them that work will soon commence on the Dixcove road to improve transportation in the area.
The chiefs, in turn, expressed their joy and gratitude to the MCE, the MP, the Coordinating Director, and the Municipal Assembly for the decision to finally construct the bridge.Below were pictures of the visit:















The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) on Wednesday, 12th November,2025 delivered relief items to the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly and the Municipal NADMO Team.
The support is intended to bring much-needed relief to the people of Asemkow following the recent chieftaincy clashes with the Butre community, which resulted in the burning of several houses, stores, and canoes.
Receiving the items, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ahanta West, Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo expressed his appreciation to NADMO for extending assistance to the Asemkow community, which was affected by the clashes some months ago.
Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo on behalf of himself, Hon. MP Mavis Kuukua Bissue and the entire community, extended his gratitude to the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the CEO of NADMO, Major (Rtd.) Dr. Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon, for their timely support.Below were pictures:






SOCIAL SERVICES AVAILABLE WITHIN AHANTA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY


On Wednesday and Thursday, 29th and 30th October, 2025, the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held it’s Second Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of its Ninth Assembly at the Municipal Assembly Hall.
The meeting’s agenda included an address by the Hon. Member of Parliament and Hon. Municipal Chief Executive, presentation of the 2026 Annual Action Plan, Composite Budget and the Medium-Term Development Plan.
In attendance at the meeting were the Hon. Municipal Chief Executive (Ebenezer Aidoo), Municipal Coordinating Director (Mumuni Shaiku Damma), Hon. Presiding Member (Isaac Simmons Bassaw), Hon. Assembly Members, Heads of Departments and other invited guests.
At the close of the meeting, the house successfully approved the 2026 Annual Action Plan, Composite Budget and the Medium-Term Development Plan.Below were pictures of the two days meeting:















The Executive Committee of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly conveyed it’s Second meeting for the year 2025 on Monday, 27th October, 2025 at the Municipal Assembly hall.
The meeting was chaired by the Municipal Chief Executive, with the Municipal Co-ordinating Director and Committee Members in attendance.
Deliberations focused on key developmental issues including the 2026 Draft Composite Budget, the 2026-2029 Medium Term Development Plan, and the strategies to enhance socioeconomic development within the Municipality.
Following through discussions, the Executive Committee made some recommendations for consideration and approval of the General Assembly.Below were pictures of the meeting:
