The entire staff of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly gathered at the Assembly Hall on 26th May,2023 for an orientation on Medical Health Insurance for all staff which was organized by Nationwide Insurance in collaboration with Office of the Local Government Service. The team from Nationwide Insurance educated the staff on all the services designed in the Medical Health packages and how it can be assessed.

Pursuant to the successful training and assessment on E-Tankas Application, the Western Regional Coordinating Council (WRCC) embarked on a monitory exercise led by the Regional Director of Information Services Department to assess the sensitization programme. The programme was held on Tuesday 9th May,2023 at the Health Conference Room of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly.In attendance were Mr Thomas Tabini WRCC – ISD, Mr Bismark Amoah WRCC-MIS, Mr Daniel Adom Reg. Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Daniel Akafia AWMA- ISD, Mrs Ruth Akoto AEHA, Mr. Konadu Yaw SEHO, Mr. George Acheampong RTI and Mr. Christian Biney Municipal MIS Officer.

On June 15th, 2023, a Team from the Presidency, led by Dr. Nisah Asare, paid a working visit to the Western Region to inspect ongoing projects under the AGENDA 111 initiative. The team’s visit brought them to Bokoro in the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly. Present to receive the team were the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. John Agyare; the Director of Administration, Mr. Eric Agbo; the Municipal Head of Works, Mr. Frank Gyapong, and some staff of the Municipal Assembly.
After inspecting the site, Dr. Nsiah Asare commended the consultant ADK Consortium and the engineers for their excellent work on the project. He noted that among the ongoing agenda 111 projects in the country, the one in the Ahanta West Municipality had made significant progress and stands out for its fast completion rate.
Hon. John Agyare, the MCE, expressed gratitude to the team for their visit and assured them that he would personally oversee the site regularly to provide the necessary support and ensure the project’s speedy completion. He also mentioned that the people of Ahanta West are proud of the government for the various ongoing health service projects in the municipality, including Agenda 111, an accident center, and a regional hospital. The Municipal Chief Executive and Municipal Coordinating Director of Ahanta West Municipal Assembly on Friday 9th June 2023, took part in the celebration of the GREEN DAY. As part of the celebration, ONE THOUSAND (1,000) Mahogany timber trees was received from Department of Parks and Garden.
Twenty (20) each Mahogany timber trees was also distributed to Fifteen (15) 1st and 2nd cycle Educational Institutions, Ten (10) Individuals including a foreigner, Five (5) Religious Organizations as well as Seven (7) Assembly staff also benefited from the distribution within the Municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. John Agyare and Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Daniel Kanyage and some representatives from Department of Education initiated the planting exercise.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held the First Ordinary Meeting of the Fourth Session of the Eighth Assembly at the Municipal Assembly Hall, Agona Nkwanta. The meeting was primarily to discuss progress made so far for the year 2023.
In attendance were the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. John Agyarer, Presiding Member, Hon. Andrews Intsiful, Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr Daniel Kanyage, District Manager for Electricity Company of Ghana,Mr. Noah Dake, Assembly Members, Heads of Departments, some staff of the Assembly and the media.

On Tuesday 9th May, 2023, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ahanta West Municipal Assembly, Hon. John Agyare commissioned 3-Unit Classroom Block and a newly renovated 3-Unit Classroom Block at St. Francis of Asisi Catholic School, AgonaFie and Ahuntumano respectively.
In his address at both ceremonies, he urged the various school authorities to exercise an excellent maintenance culture to keep these projects in their best of shapes for a longer period of usage.
These projects were awarded to a contractor in October 2022, with a 4-month lead time which was thoroughly achieved.

On the Thursday 13th April,2023, the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the United Nations Capital Development Fund UNCDF and SOS-CV organized a graduation ceremony for cash for work (CfW) beneficiaries on the GrEEn project at Hotopo.
The GrEEn project is a four-year intervention with four results areas which aims at creating employment opportunities for the youth, women and returning migrants. The project seeks to contribute to addressing the root causes of irregular migration through green and climate-resilient local economic development and to improve the prospects of beneficiaries by creating short-term employment through cash-for-work (CFW) opportunities.
Hotopo was selected for the second phase of the project. Not only does Hotopo community get a market infrastructure, but more than 50 Cash for Work beneficiaries were recruited and have been taken through several modules of life skills development training. Below were pictures of the occasion.
