His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, has nominated Mr.Ebenezer Aidoo for the position of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ahanta West Municipal.
As required by constitution of Ghana, the nominee’s appointment will be approved or confirmed by the General Assembly of Ahanta West Municipal Assembly.
The program has been scheduled for Monday 28Th April,2025 at the Municipal Assembly Hall, Agona Nkwanta at 10:00am.
On Tuesday, April 15th 2025, the Member of Parliament of Ahanta West, Hon. Mavis Kuukua – Bissue Boateng together with the Municipal Coordinating Director Mrs. Joyce Akosua Angmorteh and some Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and some staff of the Assembly embarked on a monitoring exercise within the Agona township to inspect the reshaping and dredging of drains in the municipal.

On Tuesday, April 8 and Wednesday 9, 2025, Management of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held its Meeting at the Municipal Assembly Hall, Agona Nkwanta.
The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a review of the Assembly’s bye-laws, in consultation with the Assembly’s Legal Counsel.
In attendance were the Municipal Coordinating Director, Heads of Department and Chairpersons of the Sub-committees of the Assembly.

The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across the country on Thursday, 6th March 2025 under the theme, “REFLECT, REVIEW, RESET”.
The Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held its celebration at the Forecourt of the Municipal Assembly in view of upholding the national agenda of cutting down cost of National celebrations.
The celebration was graced by the presence of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Mavis Kuukua Bissue, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Joyce Akosua Angmorteh Miezah, Chiefs, former MCEs, and other political figures in the constituency.
There were cultural performances, parades, and poems performed by students from some selected schools in the Municipality.
The event was also an opportunity to honour brilliant students who stood tall in the BECE and WASSCE examinations. The celebrations served as a reminder of the country’s journey since independence and the collective responsibility of citizens to uphold the values of unity, peace, and progress. On Monday, February 17, 2025, The new Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency met with the Management of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly at the Municipal Assembly Hall, Agona Nkwanta.
The purpose of the meeting was for the Member of Parliament, Hon. Mavis Kuukua Bissue-Boateng, to introduce herself to the Management members of the Assembly.
In attendance at the meeting were the Hon. Member of Parliament, Constituency Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Heads of the Department of the Assembly.

The Ahanta West Municipal Assembly on 5th December,2024 under the leadership of the Regional Minister Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. John Agyare in collaboration with the Ministry of Health commissioned the Agenda 111 hospital located at Bokoro.
The healthcare facility was commissioned together with Atwima Kwanwoma Municipal Hospital at Trede and the Oforikrom Municipal Hospital in the Ashante Region.

On Friday, November 29, 2024, the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held its Second Ordinary Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Assembly at its Municipal Assembly. The meeting was held to discuss various issues relating to the Assembly.
Prominent on the agenda were the presentation of the Municipal Chief Executive’s Sessional Address and Recommendations from the Executive Committee’s Report, presentation of the 2025 Annual Fee-fixing and Composite Budget, presentation of 2025 Annual Action Plan, and presentation of the recommendation of the Public Relations and Complaint Committee (PRCC).

The office of the Local Government Service in collaboration with E solution on 13th November, 2024 organized a one day training on smart workplace for all staff of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly.The core aim was to introduce staff to the usage of the smart workplace within the institution and also to understand the paperless system of work.
