The 68th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor across the country on Thursday, 6th March 2025 under the theme, “REFLECT, REVIEW, RESET”.
The Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held its celebration at the Forecourt of the Municipal Assembly in view of upholding the national agenda of cutting down cost of National celebrations.
The celebration was graced by the presence of the Member of Parliament, Hon. Mavis Kuukua Bissue, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Joyce Akosua Angmorteh Miezah, Chiefs, former MCEs, and other political figures in the constituency.
There were cultural performances, parades, and poems performed by students from some selected schools in the Municipality.
The event was also an opportunity to honour brilliant students who stood tall in the BECE and WASSCE examinations. The celebrations served as a reminder of the country’s journey since independence and the collective responsibility of citizens to uphold the values of unity, peace, and progress. The celebration came to a close with a renewed commitment to nation-building and honoring the legacy of the freedom fighters. Below were pictures of the event:
