On Monday 30th June,2025. the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo and the Municipal Coordinating Director Mrs. Joyce Akosua Agmorteh in collaboration with other State Security Officers within the Municipal inaugurated the Ahanta West Galamsey Taskforce. The inauguration was held during the early hours at the forecourt of the Assembly.
During the inaugural activity Hon. Ebenezer Aidoo urged the security personals to desist from extorting monies and other items from illegal small-scale gold miners (“Galamseyers”) and rather assist in getting them arrested.
He added that, the role of the Public Security Agencies will help in combating galamsey in Ahanta West.In attendance were ASP. Mr.Joe Osae (Ghana Police Service), Supt. John Afriyie Opoku (Ghana Immigration Service),Mr. Emmanuel Amissah Krah (NIB) and the River Guards community-based security personnel.Below were pictures of the inauguration:
