Hon. Ing. Ebenezer Aidoo Engages Apimanim Community on Proposed Cassava Processing Facility
In a proactive move to stimulate local economic development, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly, Hon. Ing. Ebenezer Aidoo, on Friday, 9th May,2025, led a delegation to the community of Apimanim for a strategic engagement on the proposed Cassava Processing Facility.
The visit signifies a major step in the Assembly’s quest to promote agro-industrial transformation and inclusive rural growth.
Hon. Aidoo, who has hit the ground running following his overwhelming confirmation, conveyed gratitude on behalf of His Excellency the President, the Western Regional Minister, and the Member of Parliament, to the Chiefs and Elders of Apimanim for their unwavering support and generous decision to release land for the project.
“Your decision to support this initiative by making land available is not only commendable but deeply patriotic,” Hon. Aidoo stated. “This project has the potential to unlock vast economic opportunities, particularly in job creation, value addition, and improved livelihoods for our people.”
He further noted that the facility, once completed, will serve as a critical anchor for enhancing cassava production and processing within the municipality. The initiative aligns with H.E. President John Dramani Mahama’s broader vision of promoting agro-processing and value addition as a strategy for sustainable national development.
The Hon. MCE was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Joyce Akosua Angmorteh; the Municipal Planning Officer, Pln. Jalil Ali Mahama; the Municipal Director of Agriculture, Mr. Dennis Adjei Antwi; and representatives from the Works Department.
As part of the visit, the team inspected the proposed site to assess its suitability and readiness for construction, ensuring all preparatory steps are firmly in place.
The Chiefs and Elders of Apimanim received the project with enthusiasm, expressing hope that it would become a catalyst for youth employment and long-term community transformation. They assured the MCE of their full cooperation and commitment to supporting the project’s success.
This engagement reaffirms the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly’s dedication to inclusive development, participatory governance, and the strategic implementation of initiatives that directly benefit local communities. Below were pictures of the community engagement.
