The Finance and Administration Sub-Committee convened on Thursday, 19th June 2025, at the Municipal Assembly Hall for their first meeting at exactly 10:00am. Key agenda items included:
1. Orientation for New Committee Members: The meeting commenced with an orientation session for new members by the Director of Central Administration,Mr. Mark Mintah Sarkodie outlining the committee’s roles, responsibilities, and expectations.
2. First Quarter Financial Performance Presentation: The Finance Officer Mr. Raphael Essuman Arthur presented a comprehensive report on the Assembly’s financial performance for the first quarter. The report highlighted revenue mobilization, expenditure patterns, and areas for improvement.
3. Mid-Year Budget Review: The Municipal Senior Budget Analyst Mr. Yakubu Issah presented the mid-year budget review to the committee. Several deliberations were made by the house on the mid-year budget review, assessing progress against set targets and identifying areas requiring adjustments. Discussions were again focused on optimizing resource allocation, addressing budgetary constraints, and ensuring alignment with Assembly priorities as well as Central Government policies and regulations.
Key Resolutions:
– New committee members were tasked with familiarizing themselves with Assembly financial regulations and procedures.
– The Chairman Hon.Emmanuel Bonney was directed to forward recommendations arising from the meeting to the Executive Committee for necessary action to be taken.
– The committee agreed on key areas for budgetary adjustments during the mid-year review and unanimously agreed that the budget be presented to the General Assembly for approval.
