MANAGEMENT OF AHANT AWEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY PAYED A WORKING VISIT TO RIGWORLD AND COCOBOD

On Thursday 17th March,2022, the Hon. Hon Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. John Agyare together with some management members of the Assembly payed a working visit to two companies (RIGWORLD and COCOBOD) within the Municipality. The visit was for him to familiarize himself with the management of the companies and discuss matters of development as well.

Key among the issues discussed were matters of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Employment to the youth of the host communities and Environmental Health. The management of the companies were delighted with the deliberations and thanked the MCE for calling on them and pledge their support to the Assembly any time the need arises.

AHANTA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY CELEBRATE GHANA’S 65TH INDEPENDENCE DAY ON 6TH MARCH,2022

Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1957 and the establishment of a free, sovereign and independent Ghanaian nation. For this, every 6th March of the year brings ecstatic joy, happiness and pride to the good people of Ghana because the day presents opportunities to celebrate our past and present national heroes who played key roles in the struggle for independence and to consolidate our gains since independence.

This national event is celebrated across the length and breath of the country and Ahanta West Municipal Assembly were not left out. The Municipal Assembly with the leadership of the MCE, Hon. John Agyare in collaboration with the Municipal Education Directorate organised this year’s independence day celebration under the theme “Working together, bouncing back better” at Agona Stamford bridge Park. This wonderful occasion was graced by Nananom of Ahanta Traditional Council, CEO’s of various Companies in the Municipality, Heads of civil society organisations, clergymen, reps from GES, reps from the Municipal Police command, reps from municipal fire command, reps from municipal immigration command, reps from municipal health directorate, headmasters and teachers of the various schools and students in general.

The 65th Independence day celebration programme commenced with a prayer at 8:30 am after the arrival of the MCE and other dignitaries . After that, the MCE delivered a speech and a parade was organised which was led by the joint cadets of Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School and St Mary’s boys SHS . After the parade, different types of programmes were presented by the student which includes poetry recital on patriotism. Later,  awards were presented to deserving student who excelled and marched with pride during the parade and students who got distinction in the previous WASSCE and BECE examination.

The colourful event ended around 12:30 pm after the presentation of awards.

Second meeting of the 65th Independence Anniversary Committee held at the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly Hall on Thursday 24th February 2022.

The selected Planning Committee Members for the 65th Independence Anniversary held it second meeting on Thursday 24th February,2022 at the Assembly hall. In attendance was the Chief Executive of Ahanta West, Hon John Agyare, Coordinating Director Mr. Daniel Kanyage, Personnel from Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration service , Municipal Education Service,etc

Public Relations and Compliant Committee of Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held it’s first meeting.

On Thursday February 22nd ,2022 the Public Relations and Complaint Committee of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly held its first meeting of the year 2022 at the Health Conference Room. In attendance were the Presiding Member, Hon. John Andrew Instiful, Representatives of the Information Service Department, Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice, National Commission on Civic Education and other Assembly members.

PGS Ghana and its local partners donated 50 pieces of 2041 bins to Ahanta West Municipal Assembly.

PGS Ghana ans it’s local partners donated 50 pieces of 2041bins to the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly. This was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility activities to support coastal communities to improve sanitation as part of their support towards the realization of on MDGs Goal on Sanitation and Water.
