The Minister for Works and Housing, Francis Asenso – Boakye (Hon.) payed a two day working visit to the Ahanta West Municipality, from the 2nd to 3rd of June,2021.
The Western Regional Minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah (Hon.) as well as the President’s representative of the Ahanta West Municipality, Henrietta Mary Eyison (Hon.), joined him as he visited some project sites.
He visited the new Amanful (Amanful Kuma) sea defense wall being constructed by Mss MAWUMS and had an interaction with the Chiefs and elders of New Amanful at the Chiefs palace.
On the second day,he visited Dixcove where he interacted with the paramount Chiefs and Elders of both Upper and Lower Dixcove Traditional Areas. Obrempong Hima Dakyi XIVand Nana Akwesi Agymang IX, respectively.
The Ahanta West Municipal Health Directorate joined the rest of the world to celebrate World No Tobacco Day on the 31st of May,2021. The day was observed at the forecourt of the Municipal Assembly.
Present at the function were the Municipal Chief Executive, Henrietta Mary Eyison (Hon.), Nana Kwesi Agyemang IX, paramount Chief of the Lower Dixcove Traditional Area, the Municipal Director of Health Services, Mr.Theophilus Ofori, leaders of both Christians and the Islamic faith as well as pupils and students from some selected first and second cycle schools.
The Management of the Ahanta West Municipal Assembly on Wednesday 12th May,2021 met with officers from the Ministry of Finance, Fiscal Decentralization Unit and the Western Region Budget Department at the MPCU conference hall. Their presence was to monitor the Assembly’s compliance with the 2019, 2020 and first quarter of 2021 budget.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Ahanta West was honored by Ex-One Entertainment for her exceptional Work.
Induction ceremony organized on 6th May,2021 by the Municipal Health Directorate for the newly posted health workers. In attendance were the Municipal Chief Executive, the Municipal Coordinating Director and the Municipal Health Director.
The Ahanta West Municipal Assembly has it’s 1st General Assembly of the Second Session of the 8th Assembly on the 27th and 28th of April 2021.
Important activities on the agenda were
1. A presentation on the preparation of the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) for the period 2022 to 2025.
2. An award to Henrietta Mary Eyison (Hon.), the Municipal Chief Executive by Ambassadors for Peace and Justice Foundation Ghana as the best performing MCE/ Municipal Assembly in the Western Region for the year 2019/2020.

Major on the agenda was a presentation on the preparation of the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) for 2022 to 2025
Following the recent spike in the second wave of the Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Ahanta West Municipal Public Health Emergency Committee headed by the Municipal Chief Executive met with Queens, Kings, GPRTU, and key Stakeholders of the Agona Nkwanta Market to deliberate on the best practices to help curb the spread of the virus.
